Backyard Chicken Coop

We want to share our scaled-down mobile shed design with you so that you can have the advantages of Majura Valley Free Range Eggs at home. There are no optional upgrades, “easy assembly”, or shortcuts. Everything has been thought of, and the highest quality materials are sourced so that you have a backyard chicken coop that lasts a lifetime. It's all about the basics; you need food, water, air and shelter for survival. All this and more has been thought of to make the best backyard chicken tractor.

Made to be Moved

Backyard chicken coops are often stagnated and smelly with a build-up of chicken manure that requires periodic cleaning and maintenance. The backyard chicken coop design is based on our holistic resource management and sustainable farming practices. The mobile construction enables you to capitalize on the regenerative potential of chicken manure, moving the chicken coop around the backyard to improve your soils. The drop-down wheels are easy and simple to use, and you can move your hens while they are inside or outside of the coop.

Feeders and Drinkers

These are not an added extra and come standard with your order. An automated drinker connects to any garden hose and provides water for your chickens. A large galvanised steel feeder will provide ample food and not require refilling for several days. This enables your hens to forage and feed whenever they like, making your life easier and healthy, happy hens.

Rollaway Nesting Box

Not only does a rollaway nesting box create a sheltered environment for your chickens, but eggs roll away into a container so that eggs can not be broken and come out clean. Comfortable mats for laying improve hygiene and is easily removable. The durable material makes the unit easy to clean and superior to a nesting box.

Pale Eucalyptus Mini Corrugated Iron

Keeping with the design of our large mobile chicken sheds working magic at Majura Valley Free Range Eggs; the backyard chicken coop is made from mini corrugated iron to protect your chickens from wind and rain. We pride ourselves on a high-quality finish and design that is in keeping with the Australian environment.

Welded Galvanized Steel Construction

Unlike timber chicken coops which encourage mites and require periodic maintenance, this chicken coop is made from high-quality steel that is strong and easy to clean. Galvanized mesh 25mm x 25mm with 2.5mm wire provides a strong structure and keeps your chickens safe from predators. In addition, the chicken coop is not flatpack construction and comes fully built and does not require any assembly time.

Easy Access

Knowing that their basic needs are met once your hens are established in their new home, you can open the front door and allow your chickens to roam. They will return at dusk, and you can safely lock them back in. We use electric poultry netting for controlled grazing and biosecurity on our property. This could be an option for your backyard, and we would be happy to discuss this management system this with you.

Animal Welfare

Happy hens lay more eggs. It’s that simple. The design of our chicken coop is the result of over a decade of research and development that aims to make life simple for chickens and their owners. The sheds are well ventilated for hot summers, a large floor area within the coop, a mesh floor at the bottom of the coop to protect from foxes while enabling your chickens to regenerate the soil. Food and water are always available inside the coop and basic needs are met.
